Anthony Giamanco
American composer Anthony Giamanco (b. 1958) is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He has been a church musician since age 17. Giamanco pursued his musical education at Eastern Michigan University, studying voice, piano, organ, and composition. His music is published by GIA, Augsburg Fortress, Lorenz, the Leupold Foundation, Paraclete Press, and Whole Tone Press, among others. Spanning a wide range of genres, his catalog includes works for choir, organ, piano, handbells, solo voice, and chamber ensembles, with more than 400 compositions published to date. A notable collaboration with hymn writer Adam M. L. Tice resulted in the hymn “God Bestows on Every Sense,” which was included in All Creation Sings (Augsburg Fortress, 2020), a liturgy and song supplement to Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Giamanco is an active member of ASCAP and the American Guild of Organists (AGO).
